Call our office to schedule a visit!
New Canaan Pediatrics is offering Telehealth!
Our mission has always been to provide the best, personalized care for our patients. In this turbulent environment, we are continuing that mission by offering telehealth visits to our families.
We will continue to see well visits in our office and telehealth visits can be scheduled all day.
Many common complaints can be addressed via telehealth sick visits and we are able to perform some of our medication rechecks and conferences as well. Call our office and our trained staff will let you know which appointments are appropriate for telehealth and which may not be.
Scheduling your Telehealth Visit
Call our office to schedule a visit. Calling the office will allow us to make sure we perform appropriate triage to confirm the appointment is right for telehealth. All data is encrypted and none of your information is stored. Our platform is Hipaa protected. If the appointment is suitable for a telehealth visit, we will schedule your visit.
At the time of scheduling, we will ask for your email or cell phone number depending on the device you plan to use for the visit (desktop, tablet, smartphone). There’s no need to download an app or create an account.
Accessing your Doctor for the visit
TELEHEALTH VISITS WITH DR. GRUNBERG, DR. NEWMAN, AND DR. IENI:
When it’s time for your scheduled visit, your doctor will send you an invite link. Please arrive for your virtual appointment 10-15 minutes early to insure technical issues are not a barrier to a smooth experience.
Once you click on the invite link, you will be brought to a virtual waiting room where your doctor will join you to conduct the visit.
TELEHEALTH VISITS WITH DR. FLYNN have a different process of accessing the visit. Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the visit time to make sure your device has a working camera and microphone and is all set for the visit. CLICK HERE and you will be brought to a virtual waiting room where Dr. Flynn will join you. Please be patient if he does not arrive right away.
Be Prepared for your Telehealth Visit
Prior to your appointment:
- Try to have a flashlight or iPhone flashlight at hand
- Have a current temperature taken just prior to the telehealth visit
- Be prepared to undress your child as needed
- If you have not had your child weighed recently in the office, try to get a weight as well.
Important Billing and Regulatory Information
If any information has changed since your last visit to the practice, please let us know when you schedule your appointment. These visits are submitted to your insurance like visits to the office are and we are expecting that they will be covered in the same manner as in-office visits by your insurance company, however there is a possibility that they may not be covered. In cases where the insurance company does not cover the visit, you will be responsible for payment. If sick visits in the office are typically applied to your deductible or have a co-insurance requirement, this will be the same for telehealth visits. If a co-pay is required for a sick visit under your plan, it may be required for a telehealth visit. Please understand that there may be a bill associated with these visits just as there may be with in-office visits and we will do our best to process these claims expeditiously.
We look forward to growing this service for our families and continue to focus on our mission to provide the best personalized pediatric care possible.
